Our Mission is Simple: Save Ad Astra Pool
In July, the Lenexa City Council voted to close Ad Astra Pool, which has been open for over 30 years and is the heart of our neighborhood. The goal of the Save Ad Astra Pool Coalition is simple - to save this important amentity for decades to come.
We believe that Ad Astra Pool is not only an important part of our past, it is a vital part of Lenexa's future, as well.
To achieve this goal, we will communicate respectfully with the Lenexa City Council in an effort to encourage them to reverse the decision to close the pool. Over the coming days, we will be revealing our detailed reasoning for why Ad Astra Pool is so important to so many of us, so critical to the surrounding neighborhoods, and why we feel the city's rationale for closing the pool is flawed.
Once the decision is reversed and we are assured the pool will remain open, we look forward to engaging in a community conversation about how to make Ad Astra Pool a success in the future - including renovations and improvements that will enhance its accessibility as well as its appeal, not only to Lenexans, but to others in our area who can take advantage of its unique size and features.
